With the new Masters of the Universe (MOTU) movie out next week, there’s excitement in the air for 80s kids and toy fans everywhere. We’ve been waiting a long time for this...
In fact, it’s been 39 years since the ill-fated adaptation starring Dolph Lundgren. At the time, I wasn’t a fan because it wasn’t like the cartoon we all grew up with. But time has been kind to that film in my eyes, and cartoon expectations aside, it’s still an easy, fun watch that actually holds up surprisingly well as a sci-fi fantasy action movie.
Especially with a franchise that pretty much began as a toy line in the first place. Even if the movie turns out bad or nothing like the cartoon (ahem), I’m still really excited.
It’s just great to see new MOTU toys being released and readily available in stores again. This is what many of us grew up with, so it’s awesome being able to share that excitement with a new generation and show them how the battles between good and evil once played out daily on bedroom and living room floors everywhere.
And even if the next generation doesn’t care as much about MOTU or toys, it’s still a fantastic time to be a toy collector or enthusiast, because nothing says “action figure” quite like a He-Man or Skeletor toy.
Nostalgia is real!
While the casual normies content themselves with a meager, low-poly squad of standard 3.75-inch Funko Pop! variants occupying their shelf real estate, the true Elite Level collectors boast the ultimate 10-inch, oversized vinyl grails: Skeletor and Prince Adam.Rendering straight from the retro-pixelated battlegrounds of Planet Eternia, these behemoth units trace their lineage back to Filmation’s legendary 1980s high-fantasy masterclass. This was the exact IP that achieved permanent, hardcoded status in the Pop Culture Hall of Fame. But the ultimate flex is anchoring your display with the rare MOTU Origins Castle Grayskull playset. This isn't just a static centerpiece; it’s an interactive sandbox boasting high-fidelity engineering and peak attention to detail. The environment comes fully loaded with high-tier interactive features, including a deployable movable ladder, an articulation-ready laser cannon, modular weapon racks, and even a functional, mechanical combat training machine. It's the ultimate legendary loot drop for any master-level collector.
The rare, vaulted MEGA Construx Castle Grayskull is the ultimate high-tier endgame flex for elite collectors like Tim. This limited Signature Series run is incredibly tough to hunt down in the current market, boasting an epic 3,500-piece build with zero low-fidelity stickers. The three operational levels of interactive analog hardware make it the absolute showstopper of the man cave. Tim even commissioned a unique, 3D-printed giant He-Man statue to fill the void during the long deployment wait for the new 2026 live-action movie starring Nicholas Galitzine and Idris Elba.
These new Masters of the Universe Chronicles (2026) figures are absolute must-haves for legacy and new fans alike, Tim included. These premium units render screen-accurate movie fidelity, capturing Nicholas Galitzine's exact battle armor and live-action weapon loadout with an incredible 30 points of articulation for peak, custom battle-stance configuration. They are now proudly deployed on standby to defend Tim's collectible shelves! Tim also owns the Masterverse Revelation He-Man based on Kevin Smith's hit Netflix animated series, boasting detailed articulation and a swappable weapon loadout to preserve peak nostalgia alongside his entire MOTU collectible lineup!
