If you're looking for your next fiction read, the new releases this week are stacked full of them! Here's everything you need on your radar this week.
Fiction New Releases!
This week I am most excited for everyone to get their hands on the latest Ashley Poston. For every reader who grew up on secret garden, and now likes their romance with a hint of magic, this book is for you. 'The Someday Garden' is sweet (with a touch of spice!), has an adorable and grouchy goose, and may well be my favourite of Poston's novels so far.
The other fiction titles I'm adding to my own TBR includes 'Green City Wars', a sci-fi/detective noir novel by one of my husband's favourite authors with genetically advanced animals and a criminal underground with racoons (I think), as well as 'Good Intentions' by Jessy Wu which sounds like a literary romance right up my 'Normal People' loving alley. If I can sneak one more on, I think I need to read 'Daggermouth'! It's a favourite in the dark romance/dystopian genre and I need to know what all the fuss is about.
It's also a big week for sequels, with the newest book in the 'Soldiers of Bedlam' series, the 'Artisan Trilogy', 'The Mavericks' series, and many more!
Non-Fiction New Releases!
I am absolutely picking up 'things I told my notes app' asap. Described as perfect for fans of Dolly Alderton's non-fiction (Me!), this is a vulnerable, funny, candid account of all the random things Milly keeps hidden in her notes app. It sounds both comforting and entertaining, which is my ideal combo in non-fiction!
The other two big non-fiction titles this week sound fantastic as well. 'The Infinity Machine' is a fascinating and revelatory biography about Demis Hassabis, the visionary behind Google's Deepmind. Meanwhile in the world of Self-Help we have 'Now What' by the author of the very popular 'Unf*ck Yourself', an honest and challenging guide to changing your mindset in order to create the life you want.
My pick this week in the world of children's fiction is How to Grow Magic: The Giant Mystery by Rachel Morrisroe. This is the first book in a brand new chapterbook series that looks wonderful for kids aged 5-8 who are just starting to read bigger stories (often a tricky category to find the right books for!). It's a whimsical story about growing magical beanstalks in a school garden, perfect for fans of Isadora Moon!
