To celebrate King's Birthday on Monday 1st June, we are holding our first ever Book Hero's Book Rescue Sale.
Amongst the many thousands of books we receive, shelve, send out, have returned, and move around, there are a few that end up with bumps and bruises (or arrive in a damaged state to our warehouse!). Some are barely blemished, and others a little more banged up, but all are still ready to be read and enjoyed (at a discount!!).
The sale includes:

- Boardgames
We would love your help giving these damaged books a new home, and we’re having a fun King’s Birthday sale event for it! Come for the perfectly imperfect novels, the slightly less special but still glorious special editions, the one of a kind books and more!
When: Kings Birthday Monday 1st June from 8.30am - 5pm (first in first served!!)
Where: Book Hero, 8/4 Rawiri Place
What: Hundreds of beautiful but slightly beaten up books needing rescuing! Across all genres, including special editions and even box sets!

Why are you selling damaged books?
Damaged books are often just thrown away and wasted, and we think these books deserve to be read even though they’re imperfect!
What price will the books be?
Books will range in price from $5 to $65. The discount for each book will range depending on the level of damage.
Can we get these delivered if we aren't in Auckland?
Unfortunately for this event it is an in person sale only but we will keep in mind whether online is an option in future.
Can I return the book if I change my mind?
For any damaged and discounted books, there are no returns available and each sale is final.
Will you continue to sell damaged books after the long weekend?
Yes! We will share more after, but the plan is to have a small curated selection available to buy in store.
How damaged are the books?
The damage ranges from a tiny scuffed edge, to books with damaged covers or dust jackets. Please take your time looking at the books to assess their condition before you decide to take them home.
Is it only books?
The sale will be mostly books, but there will be a few toys, board games and puzzles available too!
Will you be sharing the books that are in the sale beforehand or putting them on the website?
