The Rain Queen by Katherine Scholes tells the story of Kate Carrington, who has severed all connections with Africa, the land of her birth. Her past, along with memories of her missionary parents, is buried, with the final remnants securely locked away in the attic.

Kate's meticulously crafted world is disrupted when a mysterious woman, Annah Mason, moves in next door. Annah has lived a remarkable life, transitioning from a hospital in Langali to living among rainmakers deep in the Tanzanian bush. Her intimate connection with the Waganga people has given her the greatest love of her life and a freedom that surpassed her dreams.

Despite this, Annah carries a painful secret. The time has come for her to share her story and ultimately liberate Kate.
