Revolutionary Iran
Revolutionary Iran offers a comprehensive history of revolutionary Iran, providing essential insights for understanding the country today.
For some 40 years, the Islamic Republic has withstood widespread condemnation, sanctions, and endured sustained attacks by Iraq in an eight-year war. Many policymakers today wish that Iran would somehow just disappear as a problem. However, with Iran's unwavering commitment to a nuclear programme and its reputation as a disruptive force in Syria, Afghanistan, Lebanon, and elsewhere, this seems unlikely to happen anytime soon.
An unending stream of assertions about the revolution finally winding down continues to be contradicted by events, as Iran's institutions remain formidable.
Esteemed as the definitive history on this subject, this work is authored by one of the world's foremost experts.
