The Dingoes' Lament chronicles the pinnacle of The Dingoes' success in Australia in 1974, marked by their self-titled LP and hit singles "Way Out West" and "Boy on the Run". This story captures their one shot at international fame as they embark on a comedic road trip across the USA, gearing up for their breakthrough moment—touring nationally with their label-mates, Lynyrd Skynyrd.

However, upon reaching New York, they are dealt a devastating blow: the news of Lynyrd Skynyrd's plane crash. Their aspirations tumble alongside the tragic incident. The tale dives into the world of music-making and band life, yet remains a classic Australian yarn filled with authentic events and vivacious characters.

The Dingoes were honoured with an induction into the ARIA Hall of Fame in 2010 and reunited to record and tour in 2011.
