Step inside designer and sculptor Thomas Bastide's studio to discover the techniques, concepts, and inspirations that lie behind his glass creations.

This book retraces forty years in the creative career of Thomas Bastide. The designer and sculptor has collaborated with prestigious French and international companies, including Baccarat, Hennessy, and Christofle. This volume pays tribute to the unique techniques that he has contributed to the fields of crystal glassmaking, goldsmithery, and porcelain-making.

Featuring the themes that are fundamental to the artist's work, such as equilibrium, deconstruction, mechanics, and fluidity, Thomas Bastide: Design invites readers to discover an exceptional savoir faire combining creativity, technical prowess, resilience, and dexterity. The text paints an authentic, vivacious, yet humble portrait of Bastide, and his anecdotes accompany photographs by Jo Pesendorfer of a selection of his works.

This is a bilingual edition, in English and French.
