Can Detective Conan crack the case…while trapped in a kid’s body?

Case Closed, Vol. 69 by Gosho Aoyama follows Jimmy Kudo, the son of a world-renowned mystery writer, who is a high school detective known for cracking the most baffling of cases. One day, while on a date with his childhood friend Rachel Moore, Jimmy observes a pair of men in black involved in some shady business. The men capture Jimmy and give him a poisonous substance to eliminate their witness. However, instead of killing him, it turns him into a little kid! Jimmy assumes the pseudonym Conan Edogawa and continues to solve the difficult cases that come his way. All the while, he's on the lookout for the men in black and the mysterious organisation they're associated with, hoping to find a cure for his miniature malady.

Following an anonymous tip, Richard Moore travels to a remote inn aiming to catch a murderer, but instead discovers evidence of river monsters. Conan is convinced that the killer is all too human, yet Rachel sees one of the legendary creatures for herself.

Later, Conan visits a hot spring where a movie crew’s crime drama is abruptly halted by a real murder. At a romantic chocolate-themed party, the host receives a not-so-sweet bite of cyanide, leading Conan into another gripping investigation.

About the Author

Gosho Aoyama made his debut in 1986 with Chotto Mattete (Wait a Minute), which won Shogakukan’s prestigious Shinjin Comic Taisho (Newcomer’s Award for Comics) and launched his career as a critically acclaimed, top-selling manga artist. In addition to Case Closed, which won the Shogakukan Manga Award in 2001, Aoyama created the popular manga Yaiba: Samurai Legend, which won the Shogakukan Manga Award in 1992. Aoyama’s manga is greatly influenced by his boyhood love for mystery, adventure, and baseball, and he has cited the tales of Arsène Lupin and Sherlock Holmes, along with the samurai films of Akira Kurosawa, as some of his childhood favorites.
