We are all searching for answers to life's biggest questions: How can we be good? Find calm? Properly grieve? Beat FOMO? Understand what truly matters? The good news is that the wisest minds in history pondered these very same questions and unearthed answers. The ancient philosophy of Stoicism reveals that we already possess the tools needed to excavate this wisdom for ourselves.

In Reasons Not to Worry, Brigid Delaney takes us on a journey back in time to an era strikingly similar to our own — one rife with chaos, wars, plagues, pestilence, treachery, corruption, anxiety, overindulgence, and even fears of a climate apocalypse. By living and imparting the teachings of three venerable Stoic philosophers, Seneca, Epictetus, and Marcus Aurelius, Delaney demonstrates how we can apply their timeless lessons to our contemporary lives. The result is a pathway to regain a sense of agency and tranquillity amidst the noise and tumult of modern existence.

Stoicism might seem like a tough pill to swallow, but Delaney's approach is anything but austere. This book overflows with insight, humour, and compassion. It is timely, immensely practical, and filled with strategies that empower you to reclaim control over your life. Here lie your abundant reasons not to worry.

Brigid Delaney possesses an extraordinary talent for taking seemingly complex and esoteric concepts and presenting them to the reader in a manner that is generous, clear, and—most importantly—relatable. Reading this book feels akin to taking a long, illuminating walk with your cool older sister while she happens to be giving you an insightful primer on Greco-Roman philosophy.

Ben Lee notes, "Brigid has the most incredible gift of taking seemingly complex and esoteric concepts and explaining them to the reader in a way that is generous and clear, but above all, relatable. Reading this book is like having a long walk with your cool big sister while she just happens to be giving you the skinny on Greco-Roman philosophy."

Reasons Not to Worry serves as both an introduction and an examination of Stoicism. With acute thoughtfulness and a genial lightness, Delaney reassures us of the continuing relevance and necessity of this ancient philosophy. Christos Tsiolkas, bestselling author of Damascus and Seven and a Half, appreciates the kindness infused within this book and is grateful for the care, commitment, and joy found in Delaney's writing and argumentation.

"Reasons Not to Worry is both an introduction and an interrogation of Stoicism. With acute thoughtfulness and a genial lightness, Delaney convinces us that this ancient philosophy is still relevant and necessary. I appreciated the kindness in this book and I was grateful for the care and commitment and joy of the writing and argument." - Christos Tsiolkas, bestselling author of Damascus and Seven and a Half

Dive into the wisdom of the ancients and discover how their teachings can help you find clarity, peace, and resilience in the face of modern-day challenges. Reasons Not to Worry is your guide to living a more intentional and serene life.
