A timeless Aussie tale celebrating the friendship between Bob the bushie and his best buddy, Bruno the blue dog.

Barefoot Bob and Bruno live together in a broken-down barracks, surrounded by the beautiful Aussie bush. Although they don't have much in the bank, they are the best of buddies and life is bonzer.

Then one day Bob hits the bonanza and everything changes. Without a backward glance, Bob and Bruno move to the big smoke. But is this fancy new life better than the one they had in the bush?

An alliterative, humorous tale which celebrates mateship and introduces young readers to the quintessential language of the Australian bush.

About the Author

Robyn Osborne was born in Brisbane, but grew up on the Sunshine Coast. Her claim to fame at Nambour High was being regularly sent to the office for not wearing regulation leather shoes by overzealous prefects, including Kevin Rudd. Robyn is an author, teacher and self-confessed animal fanatic. She has published a number of successful children’s titles including Going Fishing, Going Camping (a Qld Premier’s Reading Challenge book) and My Dog Socks (a CBCA Notable book). Her canine inspired books Dog Logic and Midget Bones’ Diary have proved popular with dog loving readers. Robyn currently lives on the Fraser Coast with her husband and Jack the dog, the perfect writer’s muse. Robyn lives in the Sunshine Coast, Queensland. John Phillips is a talented and versatile author/illustrator who loves to create bright, lively illustrations full of movement and fun. John has combined his passion for entertaining story telling with his eclectic artistic talent and a decidedly β€˜off centre’ sense of humour to create children’s book projects that truly shine. His own grandfather’s battle with dementia, and the increasing impact of the disease in the community, was the inspiration for Grandpa and Tuska. John Phillips lives in rural Victoria with his 12 guitars and a piano. He is a loving Pa to four little ones aged 18 months to four years old.
