For Christian thinkers, the concept of a natural moral law raises pivotal questions about the relationship between reason and revelation. Particularly, there is a need to reconcile the idea of natural law with the divine law. This involves addressing the traditional Christian belief that discerning right from wrong is somehow dependent on receiving God's self-revelation through Jesus Christ.
This study revisits and revises our understanding of how Augustine managed to reconcile reason with revelation in his discourse on the natural law, offering fresh insights into his theological framework.
