The son of an army bandmaster, he grew up in Germany, Singapore and Hong Kong, as well as the UK, going on to study languages at Oxford University. He lives in Devon with his wife, son and daughter. Steven Lenton has been the winner of the Waterstones Picture Book of the Month and the Times Children's Book of the Week.
