He Tohu Box Set

BWB's books on three iconic New Zealand documents are re-issued in hardback with new jackets, available again in a stunning slipcase. He Whakaputanga/The Declaration of Independence, Te Tiriti o Waitangi, and The Women's Suffrage Petition, published in conjunction with the National Library to accompany the He Tohu exhibition, provide an introduction to these three important documents.

Each book features full colour reproductions of the document and fascinating short biographies of many of the signatories. The biographies of The Women's Suffrage Petition are arranged by region, so you can identify people who signed in your area!

Introductions Written by Leading Historians

Claudia Orange is a research associate at Te Papa Tongarewa. She was General Editor of the award-winning Dictionary of New Zealand Biography and author of BWB's best-selling Treaty of Waitangi. In 2021, Dame Claudia was awarded the Prime Minister's Award for Literary Achievement (Non-fiction).

Prof Barbara Brookes at the University of Otago is the author of the award-winning History of New Zealand Women, which won the Illustrated Non-Fiction category of the Ockham New Zealand Book Awards.

Dr Vincent O'Malley is a founding partner of HistoryWorks, a group of historians specialising in Treaty of Waitangi research. His recent book Voices From the New Zealand Wars | He Reo no nga Pakanga o Aotearoa (2021) was awarded the General Non-Fiction Prize at the 2022 Ockham New Zealand Book Awards.
