About the Author

MAX PORTER (*1981) studied art history and worked for years as an independent bookseller and editor. His internationally acclaimed debut, Mourning is the Thing with Feathers, won the Sunday Times Young Writer of the Year Award, the International Dylan Thomas Prize, and the Europese Literatuurprijs, among others, and was adapted for the theater. His second novel, Lanny, has been nominated for the 2019 Booker Prize.
