Chris Riddell's fabulously illustrated 42nd Anniversary gift edition of Douglas Adams's classic The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.

Description

Embark on an extraordinary journey through time and space with the 42nd Anniversary Illustrated Edition of Douglas Adams's iconic novel, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. In this special edition, the narrative is brought to life with stunning illustrations by Costa Award-winner Chris Riddell, making it a perfect gift for fans old and new.

An ordinary Thursday turns into a cosmic adventure for Arthur Dent, a hapless human living in England. Arthur's house is set to be demolished, but the real catastrophe strikes when the Earth itself is destroyed to make way for an interstellar bypass. Amidst the chaos, Arthur discovers his best friend Ford Prefect is an alien, and together they hitch a ride from the doomed planet just in time.

Armed with nothing but their towels and a peculiar electronic book, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, inscribed with the comforting words "DON'T PANIC," Arthur and Ford begin their voyage across the universe. Along the way, they encounter a host of quirky characters, including the severely depressed robot Marvin and the eccentric two-headed President of the Galaxy, Zaphod Beeblebrox. Their quest is filled with mind-bending revelations, humour that defies logic, and an unforgettable exploration of life, the universe, and everything.

Praised as "one of the greatest achievements in comedy" by David Walliams, Douglas Adams's seminal work is a masterful blend of science fiction and satire. This edition captures the book's whimsical spirit with Chris Riddell’s visually striking illustrations. The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy challenges conventions of space and time, all while being extraordinarily funny.

This beloved novel has left an indelible mark on popular culture, influencing countless works in science fiction and comedy. Whether you're a long-time fan or a curious newcomer, this beautifully illustrated edition is an essential addition to your collection. Dive into the absurd yet profound adventures of Arthur Dent and his companions, and let the cosmic comedy of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy brighten your bookshelf.

Book Hero Magic summarised reviews for this book. While it's new and still learning, it may not be perfect - your feedback is welcome! HOW HAS THIS BEEN REVIEWED?
