It's time for monkey business in this fifth outing for Teddington's wildest family, the Bolds! Hyenas, living as people - whatever next! Granny Imamu starts to stir up mischief with twins Bobby and Betty, encouraging them to get in touch with their beastly side at school. If animals can become people, could it happen the other way around . . .

The Bolds Go Wild introduces an unexpected guest when Fred's mother, Granny Imamu, pays a visit. Having travelled all the way from the Serengeti, she is none too pleased about the Bolds' lifestyle—hyenas pretending to be people!

Granny Imamu can't resist causing a bit of trouble, especially with the twins. She encourages them to explore their wild side at school, much to everyone's surprise.

Things take a curious turn when the twins' teacher comes to the Bolds with a peculiar issue: her grown-up son Jeffrey is not like other people. He's unusually hairy, not very talkative, and quite enjoys a bit of monkey business. This raises an intriguing question: if animals can become people, is the reverse also possible?
