The Early Diaries
A beautiful new edition collecting together Gray's two early diaries published by Faber.
The Early Diaries by Simon Gray offers a witty, painful, and acutely observed account of the highs and lows encountered while bringing two of his plays to the stage.
An Unnatural Pursuit details the London production of The Common Pursuit, capturing the nail-biting process of finding a producer, navigating rehearsals, and conducting the first-night post-mortem. It provides an enthralling insight into Simon Gray's world, his working relationship with Harold Pinterβwho directed many of his playsβand the fascinating business of putting on a play.
How's That For Telling 'em, Fat Lady? recounts Gray's experiences staging The Common Pursuit and Dog Days in Los Angeles and New York.
