Seventeen Years Later by J.P. Pomare is a masterful work of suspense that intertwines a chilling murder mystery with a compelling exploration of justice, truth, and the human psyche. The idyllic town of Cambridge is shattered when the Primrose family is brutally slaughtered in their sleep. The sudden and shocking violence leaves the community in a state of disbelief and fear.

The family's young live-in chef, Bill Kareama, is quickly apprehended and charged with the heinous crime. As the case unfolds, Bill is convicted and sentenced, seemingly bringing the matter to a close. However, the scars left on the town of Cambridge and its inhabitants are deep and enduring.

Seventeen years pass, and the case is revisited through the lens of true-crime podcaster Sloane Abbott. Sloane's investigation leads her to TK Phillips, a former prison psychologist who once fervently believed in Bill's innocence. Despite now leading a quiet and reclusive life, TK is reluctantly drawn back into the fray by Sloane's persistence and the emergence of new evidence that casts doubt on the official story.

As Sloane and TK delve deeper into the Primrose family's background, they uncover a web of secrets and lies, revealing that many individuals had motives to wish harm upon the family. The list of suspects grows, but the truth remains elusive, and Bill's innocence is never assured. The stakes are high as Sloane and TK risk everything to uncover the truth, facing shocking revelations and life-threatening dangers along the way.
