Smoke in Berlin

Detective Fischer is once again called in to help on a case, this time a seemingly straight forward murder/suicide involving a distinguished Nazi couple. However we find that the crime scene points to something very different. Ramunno takes the reader through war torn Nazi Berlin in search of answers. The historical details in the book help add to the imagery and the bleakness of Berlin during the war. ‘Smoke in Berlin’ builds suspense and intrigue as each character is introduced in the book and adds a piece to the puzzle. An interwoven and intricate web of flawed and imperfect characters each with their own backstory - this is a book that will leave you engrossed and guessing right to the very end. I enjoyed the flow of the writing and the pace was kept up throughout the book. This is not your typical detective story at all, and I highly recommend reading this one.

‘Smoke in Berlin’ follows on from Ramunno’s previous book, ‘Ashes in the Snow’, but can be read as a stand alone book.
