About the Author
Dr. Sahba Shayani is Senior Lecturer in Persian at the University of Oxford. He holds a PhD in Persian literature from the University of California, Losย Angeles. His research focuses on the role of women and women's agency in premodern Persian epic romance poetry, specifically Ferdowsiโsย Shฤhnฤmehย (1010 CE), Gorgฤniโsย Vis o Rฤminย (1050โ1055 CE) and Nezฤmiโsย Khosrow o Shirinย (1191 CE).
