The Dark Forest
The universe is a forest, patrolled by numberless and nameless predators. In this forest, others are hell, a dire existential threat. Stealth is survival. Any civilisation that reveals its location is prey. Earth has. And the others are on the way.
The second installment of China’s best-selling apocalyptic space opera trilogy.

DescriptionThe Dark Forest by Cixin Liu is the highly anticipated sequel to the award-winning science-fiction masterpiece, The Three-Body Problem. As part of the Remembrance of Earth's Past trilogy, this novel ventures deeper into the mysteries and existential threats posed by extraterrestrial forces.
In a universe teeming with advanced civilisations, every civilisation that draws attention to itself becomes prey to more powerful predators. Earth, by making itself known, has now fallen into the crosshairs of the Trisolarians, an alien species determined to conquer our planet. Despite their destination being light years away and their arrival estimated to occur in four centuries, the Trisolarians have already deployed their extra-dimensional agents, the sophons, to sabotage Earth's defences and manipulate human society from within.
In a desperate bid for survival, humanity launches the Wallfacer Project. This initiative grants four chosen individuals extraordinary power and resources to develop covert strategies to thwart the alien threat. These strategies must remain hidden, even from fellow humans, to prevent the sophons from exposing them. While three of the Wallfacers are prominent figures in science and politics, the fourth, Luo Ji, is an unassuming Chinese astronomer.
Although Luo Ji is bewildered by his unexpected appointment, he soon realises the unique significance of his role. Unlike the other Wallfacers, he finds himself the target of Trisolaris's most intense hostility. With humanity's fate resting on his shoulders, Luo Ji must navigate a labyrinth of secrecy and deception to devise a plan that can ensure Earth's survival.
Read the award-winning, critically acclaimed, multi-million-copy-selling science-fiction phenomenon – now a Netflix Original Series from the creators of Game of Thrones.
Praised for its ambitious narrative and profound philosophical questions, The Dark Forest expands on the intricate universe introduced in its predecessor, making it a cornerstone of modern science fiction.
