About the Author

Elizabeth Laird is a multi-award winning novelist, who has lived and worked in many parts of the world. She is married to the writer David McDowall. Elizabeth has travelled all over Ethiopia collecting folk stories, and helped to set up the Ethiopian Story Collecting Project. This is her first non-fiction book, written with her son Will McDowall, an Associate Professor at University College London, where he teaches and researches solutions to climate change.
Paul Boston studied illustration and design at Brighton University. His work has appeared both in children's books and global advertising campaigns.
