A Modern Self-Help Guide to Dating Apps for Millennials and Gen Z
Unconventional advice on how to make dating apps work for you by the former in-house sociologist at Tinder and Bumble.
Modern dating isn’t broken, but the way we approach it is. We curate, optimise, swipe and second guess – yet meaningful connections feel further away than ever.
In Better Love, sociologist and psychologist Dr Jess Carbino offers a smarter way forward. Drawing on research-backed behavioural science and her firsthand experience inside Tinder and Bumble, she reveals what drives common habits on dating apps, how to be aware of how it affects us and how to use that knowledge to better our online dating experiences.
Blending research with practical tools, Carbino offers advice on how to:
- Prevent dating app burnout
- Challenge the illusion of choice
- Utilise thin slicing
- Handle and overcome rejection
- Understand how our sense of self shapes our connections.
This isn’t a book about landing a partner at any cost. Smart, science-backed and practical, Better Love is a guide to building internal fulfilment so that the relationships you choose are grounded, mutual and lasting.
