Emin's diverse practice spans painting, drawing, film, photography, sewn applique, sculpture, and neon. However, her recent focus has shifted predominantly to painting. Inspired by Egon Schiele and Edvard Munch, her paintings are both provocative and confrontational, as well as vulnerable. They offer a deeply personal yet universal commentary, which earns her reverence worldwide and solidifies her status as an international icon.
This book features more than 300 images showcasing Emin's gestural and expressive figurative paintings, from the 1990s to the present. It includes a conversation with her close friend David Dawson and an essay by Australian writer Jennifer Higgie. Developed in close collaboration with the artist, this publication is the first to be exclusively dedicated to Emin's emotive paintings, providing an unparalleled showcase of her soulful work.

About the Author
David Dawson is a London-based painter and Director of the Lucian Freud Archive. He studied at the Royal College of Art from 1987 to 1989, where he was a contemporary of Tracey Emin.
Jennifer Higgie is an Australian, London-based writer and the former editor of frieze magazine. Her latest book is The Other Side: A Story of Women, Art and the Spirit World. Tracey Emin is a Royal Academician and was elected the Royal Academy's Professor of Drawing in 2011. She has represented Britain at the Venice Biennale and in 2023 established the Tracey Emin Foundation and TKE Studios.Also by David Dawson
