Book Hero Magic crafted this summary to help describe this book. While it's new and still learning, it may not be perfect - your feedback is welcome! Summary
This volume presents three detailed historical accounts of Julius Caesar's military campaigns: the Alexandrian War, the African War, and the Spanish War. Though not penned by Caesar himself, these works offer invaluable insights into his career, likely authored by his contemporaries and officers who participated in the conflicts. Together, they provide a rich narrative of Roman military history during the late Republic period.

Book Hero Magic formatted this description to make it easier to read. While it's new and still learning, it may not be perfect - your feedback is welcome! Description

In this volume are three works concerning the campaigns engaged in by the great Roman statesman Julius Caesar (100–44 BCE), but not written by him. The Alexandrian War, which deals with troubles elsewhere also, may have been written by Aulus Hirtius (ca. 90–43 BCE, friend and military subordinate of Caesar), who is generally regarded as the author of the last book of Caesar's Gallic War.

The African War and the Spanish War are detailed accounts clearly by officers who had shared in the campaigns. All three works are important sources of our knowledge of Caesar's career.

The Loeb Classical Library edition of Caesar is in three volumes.
