Book Hero Magic formatted this description to make it easier to read. While it's new and still learning, it may not be perfect - your feedback is welcome! Description
Revenge by Michael Cohen is a gripping and eye-opening exposé that delves into the corridors of power and the treacherous underbelly of political retribution. This New York Times, USA Today, Publishers Weekly, and Wall Street Journal bestseller tells the chilling tale of what happens when one decides to confront a president who believes himself to be above the law. Michael Cohen, the man the New York State Attorney General credited with inspiring her prosecution of Donald Trump, reveals the behind-the-scenes machinations and personal fallout that ensued after he became a liability to the then-President. The story begins with Cohen's secret payoff to porn star Stormy Daniels, a move that ultimately led to his downfall and a surprise visit from the FBI at his door. What follows is a harrowing journey through Cohen's experiences as he finds himself imprisoned despite possessing ample evidence to claim his innocence for most of the charges. The narrative further intensifies as Cohen grapples with the allegations from the Steele Dossier, which accused him of clandestine dealings with Russia—a claim that persisted even after the Mueller Report exonerated him. Through evocative prose and a blunt, no-nonsense style, Cohen paints a stark picture of the lengths to which powerful individuals will go to silence their detractors. He recounts his attempts to clear his name amidst media frenzy and governmental pressure, offering a stark warning about the dangers of speaking truth to power when that power knows no limits. In a story that echoes recent events involving the IRS's targeting of Trump foes such as former FBI head James Comey, Cohen unflinchingly names names and bares all. Revenge provides a nuanced and profound understanding of political persecution, personal integrity, and the high cost of standing up to the most powerful office in the land. This compelling narrative is not just a memoir but a cautionary tale—one that underscores the perils faced by those who dare to challenge the status quo in a world where power is the ultimate weapon. Don't miss out on this explosive account that has captivated readers and revealed a shadowy world of political intimidation and legal manoeuvres.
