Gephyromania was selected as one of the top poetry books of 2014 by Entropy and was listed by Eileen Myles as one of her favourites for 2014 in The Gay and Lesbian Review. Kerri Webster wrote a generous introduction to the book for The Poetry Society of America.
The author co-edited Troubling the Line: Trans and Genderqueer Poetry & Poetics, which was a finalist for the Lambda Literary Award.
The author was awarded an Academy of American Poets' Laureate Fellowship and is Tucson's Poet Laureate, where they lead community poetry writing workshops.
They served as guest editor for the PEN Poetry Series, a poetry co-editor at The Feminist Wire, and a guest editor for The Academy of American Poets' Poem A Day.
Additionally, the author was a Writer in Residence at Pratt Institute from 2019 to 2020 and holds an MFA in Poetry from the University of Arizona.

TC Tolbert identifies as a trans and genderqueer feminist, collaborator, mover, and poet. And, s/he's a human in love with humans doing human things. S/he is author of Gephyromania (Ahsahta Press 2014), five chapbooks, and co-editor of Troubling the Line: Trans and Genderqueer Poetry and Poetics (Nightboat Books, 2013). TC was recently awarded an Academy of American Poets' Laureate Fellowship for his work with trans*, non-binary, and queer folks as Tucson's Poet Laureate.
