About The Author: An avid student of nature from an early age, Patricia's interest in writing poetry began as a teenager. She worked at Syracuse University's student newspaper, The Daily Orange, and wrote spots for WAER Radio. One of her poems was published in the Rutgers University Literary Magazine the year she graduated. She wrote for the Princeton Packet while at Rutgers and then for SALT Magazine after returning to Syracuse, NY. This book of haiku and art is her first published book.

About The Artist: Liliya observes that memory is one of the most precious things in life. She recalls seeing landscapes and beautiful things around her, trying to memorise them, and running home to capture them with pencils and paint on paper. Every painting is a promise of a memory that will not be forgotten. A self-taught artist, Lifanova collects knowledge from painting with other artists, attending art workshops, reading about art techniques, and visiting museums. Her art synthesises her personal life, and every painting is a reminder of what is real and meaningful.

About the Author

An avid student of nature at an early age, Patricia's interest in writing poetry began as a teenager. She worked for the Daily Orange at Syracuse University and wrote spots for WAER Radio. The Literary Magazine published one of her poems the year she graduated from Rutgers University. She wrote for the Princeton Packet while at Rutgers and then for SALT Magazine, after returning to Syracuse, NY. This book of haiku and art is her first published book. Memory is one of the most precious things in life. I remember seeing landscapes, flowers and other beautiful things around me, trying to memorize them visually and then running home to capture them with pencils and paint on paper. Every painting is a promise of a memory that will not be forgotten.

As a self-taught artist, I collect knowledge from painting with other artists, attending art workshops, reading lots of books and magazines on art techniques, and going through museums with classical and contemporary art. My art is a synthesis of my personal life, and every painting is a reminder of what is real and meaningful.

It was a challenging process to collaborate on this book, but putting pictures to Pat's words was an interesting exercise in imagination. I am thankful for the opportunity to work on this exciting project and hope you, as a reader, enjoy the book.
