Henry VI Part Two tells the story of Henry VI, who is tricked into marrying Margaret, the lover of the Earl of Suffolk. Suffolk hopes to rule the kingdom through her influence. Upon discovering this betrayal, Henry banishes Suffolk. However, with his Lord Protector gone, the unworldly young King must face his greatest challenge: an impending Civil War and the rising threat of the House of York.

About the Author

William Shakespeare was born some time in late April 1564 in Stratford-upon-Avon and died in 1616. He is widely regarded as the greatest writer in the English language and the world's pre-eminent dramatist. Stanley Wells is Emeritus Professor of the University of Birmingham and Chairman of the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust. Michael Taylor was formerly Professor of English at the University of New Brunswick in Canada. Norman Sanders was formerly Professor of Shakespeare at the University of Tennessee.
