This eloquent, pocket-sized book offers a profound exploration into the current state of our world. Shafak dissects the pervasive pessimism and the emotional turbulence that grip our politics and personal lives. She questions how we can hold onto our optimism in such troubling times and proposes nurturing the parts of ourselves that hunger for hope, trust, and a belief in a better future.
