Step beyond the magical movies and explore the wider world of Studio Ghibli.

With Ghibliverse, Michael Leader and Jake Cunningham invite readers on an enchanting journey through the multifaceted universe of Studio Ghibli, transcending the boundaries of the beloved films. This meticulously crafted book delves into the rich tapestry of inspirations and influences that shape Ghibli's cinematic magic, offering fans a compelling exploration of the studio’s lasting footprint on global culture.

Renowned as the greatest animation studio in the world, Studio Ghibli’s influence reaches far beyond the silver screen. Ghibliverse vividly illustrates this breadth, tracing a path through the wider array of works and mediums that inform Ghibli’s storied productions. Readers will discover an expansive world brimming with hidden gems, from manga and rare films to largely forgotten television series and the enchantment of new theme parks.

Furthermore, the book highlights the literary masterpieces that inspire the studio’s storytelling, the rival studios that sparked creative innovations, the evocative soundtracks that linger in the hearts of fans, and even the elusive short films that remain closely guarded secrets. Leader and Cunningham, expert authors and hosts of the acclaimed Ghibliotheque podcast, present a compelling argument that the magic of Ghibli endures long after the end credits have rolled.

Ideal for both long-time fans and new enthusiasts, Ghibliverse is a treasure trove of insights and discoveries. It's not just a book; it's an invitation to dive deeper into the magical world of Studio Ghibli and to uncover the myriad threads of creativity that weave together to inspire some of the most beloved animated films of all time.
