Warehouse Sidekick (Casual Hours)

We’re looking for a reliable, energetic Warehouse Sidekick to join our team on a casual "as needed" basis to help us cover busy days.

At Book Hero, we deliver thousands of books to customers and schools across Aotearoa. Our warehouse is where the magic happens - and we need someone who’s fast, capable of working independently, and takes pride in doing things right.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Picking and packing customer orders with speed and accuracy
  • Receiving and processing incoming stock
  • Keeping the warehouse organised and efficient

What we’re looking for:

  • Available to work on a casual 'as needed' basis. May suit people studying or with other part-time or casual work
  • Physically fit and comfortable being on your feet
  • High attention to detail
  • Reliable, punctual, and a team player
  • Previous warehouse is a bonus (but not essential)

Customer Service Sidekick (Casual Hours)

We’re looking for a reliable, organised Customer Service Sidekick to join our team on a casual "as needed" basis to help us cover busy days.

At Book Hero, we deliver thousands of books to customers and schools across Aotearoa. Our customer service team is where we connect directly with our customers, help them solves problems and make things right when things go wrong. We need someone who’s fast on the computer, great at juggling and prioritising tasks, and confident solving problems and acting in the best interests of customers.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Replying to customer emails quickly and thoughtfully
  • Helping customers place orders and find hard-to-find books
  • Making changes to existing orders
  • Chasing up courier issues and resolving misdeliveries
  • Processing returns and helping customers with orders that weren't quite right
  • Keeping on top of inboxes and admin tasks

What we’re looking for:

  • Available to work on a casual "as needed" basis. May suit people studying or with other part-time or casual work
  • Fast and confident using a computer and switching between tasks
  • Highly organised, with a strong ability to prioritise and manage competing tasks
  • Enjoys admin work and ticking things off lists
  • Empathetic, patient, and great at looking after people
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Reliable, punctual, and a team player
  • A love of books is a bonus

Where We’re Based

Book Hero is based in Hobsonville, Auckland.

Our bookshop, warehouse and office all live together in one space. It is busy, fast moving and full of books.

What We’re Building

We are building an online bookstore we are genuinely proud of.
One we shop at ourselves. One we are proud to send to our friends and family.

We sell books - a lot of them. And we are expanding into a growing range of book-adjacent products you can enjoy together, like puzzles, board games and toys.
