Ally D'Aplièse is poised to compete in one of the world’s most dangerous yacht races when she learns about the sudden and mysterious death of her adoptive father, Pa Salt. Rushing back to their secluded family mansion on Lake Geneva, she reunites with her five sisters. Each daughter is handed an intriguing clue about their true heritage by their father, an enigmatic billionaire. Pa Salt's unexpected demise prompts them to explore their origins, setting the stage for a journey of self-discovery and revelation.

Having recently embarked on a passionate love affair that will irrevocably alter her destiny, Ally's life is thrown into turmoil. Faced with overwhelming grief and questions that demand answers, she decides to leave the competitive yachting world to follow the path her father charted for her. Ally’s journey takes her to the stunning, icy landscapes of Norway, where she begins to uncover the secrets of her lineage.

In Norway, Ally delves into the history of Anna Landvik, an obscure young singer from over a century ago who participated in the initial performance of Edvard Grieg’s music, set to Henrik Ibsen's play Peer Gynt. As Ally pieces together the fragments of Anna’s life, she unearths connections that bind her own story to that of the past, making startling discoveries about her family and the mysterious figure of Pa Salt. The journey also raises a significant question about the identity and whereabouts of the elusive seventh sister, deepening the family's mystery.

Following the international bestseller The Seven Sisters, The Storm Sister is the enthralling second novel in Lucinda Riley's captivating series, which is inspired by the mythology of the famed Pleiades star constellation. With lush backdrops, intricate character exploration, and a seamless blend of past and present, Riley crafts a narrative that is as moving as it is compelling.

About the Author

Lucinda Riley was born in 1965 in Ireland, and after an early career as an actress in film, theatre and television, wrote her first book aged twenty-four. Her books have been translated into thirty-seven languages and continue to strike an emotional chord with all cultures around the world. The Seven Sisters series specifically has become a global phenomenon, creating its own genre, and there are plans to create a seven-season TV series. Her books have been nominated for numerous awards, including the Italian Bancarella prize, The Lovely Books award in Germany, and the Romantic Novel of the Year award. In 2020 she received the Dutch Platinum award for sales over 300,000 copies for a single novel in one year - an award last won by J K Rowling for Harry Potter. In collaboration with her son Harry Whittaker, she also devised a series of books for children called The Guardian Angels series, based on stories told to her children whenever they were facing a challenging situation. Harry then wrote the books, and they are now being published internationally. Though she brought up her four children mostly in Norfolk in England, in 2015 she fulfilled her dream of buying a remote farmhouse in West Cork, Ireland, which she always felt was her spiritual home, and indeed this was where her last five books were written. Lucinda was diagnosed with cancer in 2017 and died on June 11th 2021, surrounded by her family.
