Book Hero Magic formatted this description to make it easier to read. While it's new and still learning, it may not be perfect - your feedback is welcome! DescriptionIn the mesmerizing novel The Seven Sisters by Lucinda Riley, readers are introduced to a sweeping saga that begins with Maia D'Apliése and her five adopted sisters gathering at their childhood home, Atlantis, a secluded castle on the shores of Lake Geneva. They are mourning the death of their enigmatic and beloved father, Pa Salt, a billionaire who has already been laid to rest at sea. Each sister receives a tantalising clue to her true heritage, setting off a journey of self-discovery and adventure.
For Maia, her clue leads her to the vibrant city of Rio de Janeiro in Brazil. Here, amidst the splendour and decay of a crumbling mansion, she begins to uncover her past, piece by intriguing piece. The narrative deftly shifts to the Belle Epoque of 1927, where we meet Izabela Bonifacio, a young woman whose father dreams of marrying her into aristocracy.
Izabela's world intertwines with that of the architect Heitor da Silva Costa, who is on the brink of creating the iconic statue Christ the Redeemer. As Heitor prepares to journey to Paris in search of the perfect sculptor, he takes Izabela along with his family. In Paris, within the vibrant artistic circles of Montparnasse, Izabela encounters the gifted and ambitious sculptor, Laurent Brouilly. This fateful meeting changes the trajectory of her life forever.
The Seven Sisters is a spellbinding blend of history, romance, and mystery, the first instalment in a captivating series inspired by the legends of the Seven Sisters star constellation. Through Maia's quest for her origins and the rich historical backdrop of Izabela's story, Lucinda Riley masterfully weaves a narrative of love, loss, and self-discovery.
Lucinda Riley's storytelling talent shines brightly in this beautifully layered tale that promises to be an unforgettable journey. Fans and new readers alike will be entranced by Riley's ability to evoke atmosphere and emotion, creating a deeply immersive reading experience.

About the Author
Lucinda Riley was born in 1965 in Ireland, and after an early career as an actress in film, theatre and television, wrote her first book aged twenty-four. Her books have been translated into thirty-seven languages and continue to strike an emotional chord with all cultures around the world. The Seven Sisters series specifically has become a global phenomenon, creating its own genre, and there are plans to create a seven-season TV series. Her books have been nominated for numerous awards, including the Italian Bancarella prize, The Lovely Books award in Germany, and the Romantic Novel of the Year award. In 2020 she received the Dutch Platinum award for sales over 300,000 copies for a single novel in one year - an award last won by J K Rowling for Harry Potter. In collaboration with her son Harry Whittaker, she also devised a series of books for children called The Guardian Angels series, based on stories told to her children whenever they were facing a challenging situation. Harry then wrote the books, and they are now being published internationally. Though she brought up her four children mostly in Norfolk in England, in 2015 she fulfilled her dream of buying a remote farmhouse in West Cork, Ireland, which she always felt was her spiritual home, and indeed this was where her last five books were written. Lucinda was diagnosed with cancer in 2017 and died on June 11th 2021, surrounded by her family.
