Rat Fair
Rat Fair is a nearly-wordless picture book about a group of rats who confuse an Art Fair sign for their own and end up creating a delightful Rat Fair. A compassionate young boy intervenes to save them from the humans who might dismantle their festivities.
When a group of industrious, fun-loving rats find letters that have fallen from an Art Fair sign, they reassemble the signβwith one small alterationβand set off to craft a magnificent RAT FAIR. However, their event is thwarted as humans sweep away all that the rats have constructed. Undeterred, the rats shift focus and start organising their very own Rat Art Fair.
As they round off their first day of the Rat Art Fair, a human child, who has been observing their progress from a distance, discovers them in action. The rats then face a critical decision: whether they can trust the child. This virtually wordless story beautifully illustrates how misunderstandings can spark wondrous creativity.
