Notorious RBG by Irin Carmon and Shana Knizhnik is an inspiring and captivating biography that delves deep into the life and achievements of Ruth Bader Ginsburg, a Supreme Court Justice whose legacy has left an indelible mark on history. This book is not merely a biography; it is a compelling narrative that charts Ginsburg's journey from her early struggles against gender discrimination to becoming a trailblazer in the fight for equality and justice.

The book begins by exploring Ginsburg's early life, her education, and the significant challenges she faced as a woman in the predominantly male field of law. It covers her time at Harvard Law School, where she courageously balanced the demands of her coursework with her roles as a wife and mother. The narrative then moves through her early career as an attorney, highlighting her groundbreaking work with the American Civil Liberties Union and her instrumental role in numerous landmark cases that pushed the boundaries of gender discrimination laws.

As Ginsburg's career progresses, the book details her appointment to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit and eventually to the Supreme Court, where she served for 27 years. The authors provide a revealing look into her tenure on the Court, focusing on her powerful dissents, which earned her the nickname “Notorious RBG.” Her dissents, especially those related to gender equality, civil rights, and protections for marginalized communities, are examined in detail, showing how her words and decisions have impacted American society.
