Cloud of Outrageous Blue by Vesper Stamper is praised for its beautiful writing and imaginative storytelling, featuring fully realised characters. The historical tale is well-researched, incorporating miraculous elements and complemented by elegant illustrations. Edyth's narration offers a vivid depiction of the Middle Ages and highlights the harsh reality of the bubonic plague, with her synesthesia adding an elegant touch to her descriptions.
