The Protector by Tony Park is a gripping thriller that masterfully weaves themes of rescue, revenge, and redemption against the stunning backdrop of southern Africa. This high-octane adventure story explores the lengths we go to protect the ones we love and the sacrifices we make in pursuit of justice.

At the heart of the novel is Professor Denise 'Doc' Rado, an esteemed expert on pangolins in South Africa. Known for her unwavering commitment to conservation, Doc dedicates her life to busting poachers and rescuing these endangered creatures through daring undercover operations. However, when a risky sting goes horribly wrong, her carefully constructed world begins to unravel.

Despite the personal and professional fallout, Doc finds herself tasked with leading an eclectic group of donors on a wildlife tour across southern Africa. This eclectic mix of characters includes the charming and enigmatic Ian Laidlaw, an Australian businessman turned accidental philanthropist. As the group ventures deeper into the untamed wilderness, Doc's sense of foreboding grows. She becomes increasingly convinced that they are being followed, and with a target on her back, the stakes are higher than ever.

Doc faces a relentless pursuit, but is it the poachers she once fought who are after her, or is there another, even more dangerous predator lurking in the shadows? The suspense intensifies with every turn of the page, as Doc navigates the perils of both the wild and human nature, determined to protect her group at all costs.

The Protector is a spellbinding tale that combines Tony Park's signature action-packed storytelling with a deep appreciation for the natural world. Through vivid descriptions and intricate character development, Park immerses readers in a vividly depicted Africa, filled with both beauty and brutality. This novel is a testament to the resilience of the human spirit and the enduring bond between people and wildlife.

For fans of adventure, suspense, and heartfelt narratives, The Protector promises an unforgettable journey through a gripping plot and the evocative landscapes of southern Africa.
