Men Who Hate Women

A ground-breaking investigation into extreme misogyny.

Book Hero Magic formatted this description to make it easier to read. While it's new and still learning, it may not be perfect - your feedback is welcome! Description

Men Who Hate Women by Laura Bates is an urgent and groundbreaking exploration into the dark and often unseen world of misogyny that thrives on the internet and beyond. The book takes readers into undercover investigations of vast networks of incels (involuntary celibates) and other misogynist communities whose toxic ideologies have real-world impacts, leading to violence and terror against women.

Imagine a world where a shadowy network of extremists operates virtually undetected, committing deliberate acts of terrorism against women. Vulnerable teenage boys are systematically groomed and radicalised. This isn't a dystopian nightmare; it's our reality. Laura Bates sheds light on this overlooked extremism, revealing how it affects us all.

With a combination of in-depth research and personal interviews, Bates exposes how these dangerous ideologies are propagated. Delving into the darkest corners of the internet, she reveals how trolling, media influences, and celebrity endorsements help spread misogynistic ideas into schools, workplaces, and even the corridors of power, embedding them into the fabric of our collective consciousness.

This book is uncensored, shocking, and often terrifying. Yet, it is a vital read for understanding the uncomfortable truths about the world we live in and what must be done to change it. Bates's insights come not only from her undercover work but also from the voices of former members of these groups and the activists fighting against misogynistic extremism.

Men Who Hate Women is a call to action, urging society to confront these issues head-on and spark change. Laura Bates, bestselling author and founder of the Everyday Sexism Project, utilises her expertise and passion to illuminate these pervasive problems and potential solutions.
