The Stone Sky
The remarkable conclusion to the record-breaking triple Hugo Award-winning fantasy trilogy that began with The Fifth Season
The incredible conclusion to the record-breaking, triple Hugo award-winning trilogy that began with The Fifth Season.
In The Stone Sky, N. K. Jemisin brings her highly-acclaimed Broken Earth trilogy to an epic conclusion. As the relentless struggle for survival continues, the fate of the world now hinges on the actions of Essun and her daughter Nassun.
The world itself is at stake, as the Moon, long lost, is set to return. This celestial event could either catalyse the apocalypse or signal an unprecedented new era for humanity. The answer lies in the hands of two women whose paths are set to cross in a final, earth-shattering climax.
Essun has inherited the immense power once wielded by Alabaster Tenring. Determined to master the Obelisk Gate, she seeks to create a world where her daughter and other children born with unique abilities can live safe and unpersecuted lives. However, the severity of her quest pushes her to grapple with the limits and nature of power itself.
Meanwhile, Nassun, her mother's estranged daughter, has been shaped by a world filled with its own unprecedented horrors. With a resolution far darker and more pragmatic than her mother's vision, Nassun has come to believe that some things are beyond redemption, and that the world may need to be broken to be remade.
