You Are Here, the latest novel by bestselling author David Nicholls, weaves a heartwarming tale of two individuals at life's crossroads. The plot centres on Marnie, who finds herself stuck in a rut, working in the confines of her London flat. Plagued by the monotony of her routine, she spends her days longing for something more. Michael, on the other hand, is grappling with the aftermath of his wife’s departure. His life has turned into a series of lonely excursions across the moors and fells, where he seeks solace and understanding.

Fate, along with a well-meaning mutual friend and some quintessentially English weather, conspire to bring Marnie and Michael together on an unexpected journey. What begins as a solitary walk transforms into an epic adventure, setting the stage for a meaningful connection. As they traverse the picturesque landscapes, a budding friendship forms, laden with the promise of new beginnings and the possibility of healing their fractured lives.

With Nicholls' characteristic wit and emotional depth, You Are Here delicately explores themes of love, loss, and the serendipitous nature of human connection. It's a book that reminds us that sometimes we need to get lost to find our way home.

Sometimes you need to get lost to find your way

Marnie is stuck. Stuck working alone in her London flat, stuck battling the long afternoons and a life that often feels like it's passing her by.

Michael is coming undone. Reeling from his wife's departure, increasingly reclusive, taking himself on long, solitary walks across the moors and fells.

When a persistent mutual friend and some very English weather conspire to bring them together, Marnie and Michael suddenly find themselves alone on the most epic of walks and on the precipice of a new friendship.

But can they survive the journey?

A new love story by beloved bestseller David Nicholls, You Are Here is a novel of first encounters, second chances and finding the way home.
