Ghost of the Neon God
Ghost of the Neon God
A thrilling, propulsive story of escape as two small-time crooks and best friends go on the run to save an AI in its infancy, perfect for fans of William Gibson's All Tomorrow's Parties, Richard Morgan and Ghost in the Shell.
Ghost of the Neon God by T.R. Napper takes you to the gritty streets of Melbourne, where Jackson Nguyen, a petty crook, scrapes by. When he encounters a desperate yet wealthy Chinese dissident pleading for his aid, Jackson's instinctive response is to steal her shoes.
Despite his efforts to steer clear of complicity, Jackson spirals into chaosβentangled in murder, mayhem, high-speed chases, quick-witted exchanges, corrupt law enforcement, and a harrowing journey through the awe-inspiring yet menacing Australian Outback.
In Jacksonβs world, defying the ruling class is a surefire path to an early demise. Yet, when an earth-shattering technology falls into his hands, he must act to prevent it from being exploited by the wrong hands. Amidst a backdrop of pervasive government surveillance and stifling corporate control, it falls upon this small-time criminal to keep the flame of human defiance burning bright.
