The Other Side of Mrs Wood introduces Mrs Wood, London's most celebrated medium. She has endured the competitive world of contacting the Other Side for decades, skilfully avoiding the slips that exposed others as frauds and continues to host packed-out séances for Victorian high society.

Yet, some of her patrons have recently cancelled their sittings. Reports circulate of American mediums seemingly materialising full spirits, and audiences no longer find satisfaction in the table-knocking and candle theatrics of the past. During one of Mrs Wood's routine gatherings, she hears something unsettling — faint yet unmistakable: a yawn.

To refresh her brand, Mrs Wood decides to take on Emmie, a young protégé, as part of her show. However, she must determine whether Emmie Finch is truly the naïve ingénue she appears to be or if she poses a threat to Mrs Wood’s reign and potentially, her reputation.
