A Forgery of Roses introduces us to Myra, a portrait artist with a rare gift: her paintings can alter people's bodies. This extraordinary ability is a secret Myra must protect at all costs, especially now that her parents are gone, and the safety of her younger sister depends on it. However, one cold night, the governor's wife uncovers Myra's secret and coerces her into painting a portrait to bring the governor's dead son back to life.

Upon arriving at the grand stone mansion, Myra realises the boy's death was no mere accident. The halls are haunted by a killer with a sinister obsession for portrait magic. Eager to escape the mansion before she falls prey to this hidden threat, Myra enlists the help of the governor's older son to complete the painting, hoping to safeguard her secrets and her life.

About the Author

Jessica S. Olson claims New Hampshire as her home, but has somehow found herself in Texas, where she spends most of her time singing praises to the inventor of the air conditioner. When she's not hiding from the heat, she's corralling her three wild-but adorable-children, dreaming up stories about kissing and murder and magic, and eating peanut butter by the spoonful straight from the jar. She earned a bachelor's in English with minors in editing and French, which essentially means she spent all of her university time reading and eating French pastries. Sing Me Forgotten is her debut novel.
