Fake news, real danger! The exciting conclusion to the Scoop series, featuring your favourite paranormal kid journalist, along with intergalactic and supernatural hijinks!

Sophie Cooper has overcome a lot in the last couple of years, all in the hopes of convincing the world that her dad is not a criminal. She’s solved some murders, outwitted a time-travelling mad scientist, gained psychic powers (only to give ‘em right back), and raised a flying saucer from the Everglades—all while celebrating her Quinceñera, surviving high school, navigating a love triangle, and interning for the local TV news station, WMIA 7.

But now Sophie faces off against the deadliest threat yet…herself! When a sinister Sophie doppelgänger appears on the scene, spouting fake news and debunking all that the real Sophie has worked so hard to achieve, our intrepid teen reporter must face facts.

Will she ever prove her father’s innocence? Would anyone believe her anyway? Or have Sophie’s investigations only put a giant target on her family, her friends, and that which she values above all else—the truth?

About the Author

Richard Ashley Hamilton is a Cuban-American (no, really) writer best known for his storytelling across DreamWorks Animation’s How To Train Your Dragon and Guillermo Del Toro’s Tales of Arcadia franchises. He wrote on the Daytime Emmy-winning first season of Dragons: Race to the Edge and scripted the Lumiere award-winning How To Train Your Dragon: Hidden World Tour VR experience. But in his heart, Richard remains a lifelong comic book fan. He currently writes a YA graphic novel series, Scoop, for Mad Cave Studios/Maverick, and his middle-grade horror title, Fearbook Club, was named a 2022 Junior Library Guild Official Selection. Richard lives in Glendale, CA, with his wife, their two sons, and a Husky named Lulu.

After finishing his illustration studies in Buenos Aires, Pablo Andrés moved to Spain, where he began drawing comics and where he currently resides. His work has been published in Dark Horse Comics, Disney Comics, Insight Comics, Hugo Publishing and Z2 Comics. He is co-creator of the Webtoon Summer Lights, which was awarded a special mention.

Simon Robins based in the bushy surrounds of regional Victoria in Australia. With a focus on the psychology and storytelling potential of color, Simon strives to push the limits of the medium and explore new and creative approaches to coloring comics. With seven years as a professional colorist, he has worked with both major mainstream and independent publishers and creators. He also occasionally letters comics and loves the unseen craft involved in this often under-recognized element of comic creation.

Justin Birch is a Ringo Award-nominated letterer born and raised in the hills of West Virginia. Lettering comics since 2015, he is a member of the lettering studio AndWorld Design and has worked with AWA, Boom!, DC, Dark Horse, IDW, Image, Mad Cave Studios, and numerous indy publishers. Justin still lives in West Virginia, only now it’s with his loving wife, daughters, and their dog, Kirby.
