Look Into My Eyes
Look Into My Eyes
RJ, a conspiracy-obsessed teen, investigates a popular classmate's disappearance as a new social media platform takes her small island town by storm... and horrifying monsters with too many eyes emerge from the shadows! With QR codes expanding the lore, this comic blends horror, social critique, and interactive storytelling.
Welcome to Cravenwood, a small island town sometimes called "Quiet Island" due to the massive radio telescope that interferes with cell signals. But never fear! Residents can still connect with their besties on CannonCorp's brand new social app, Knock Knock, a high-tech and immersive platform that's taken the town by storm.
The rest of Cravenwood may be under Knock Knock's spell, but local conspiracy-obsessed teen RJ Nguyen isn't buying it. She's too busy investigating the disappearance of her popular high school classmate Suzy. But with the clues piling up and classmates becoming suspects, RJ finds herself uncovering a sinister corporate agenda at the heart of CannonCorp, as well as dark horrors at the heart of social hierarchy!
Can RJ unearth the true evils of not only the corporation but the town she calls home? What happened to Suzy? What is going on with the multi-eyed monsters suddenly taking over the island?
Paying tribute to classics of horror ranging from Twin Peaks to Junji Ito, Rubine's Look Into My Eyes is an eye-opening exploration of social media, societal control, and the horrors of being a teenager. This immersive horror story includes QR codes to help readers dive into the lore and landscape of Cravenwood!

About the Author
Iβm Rubine, a comic book artist and writer passionate about graphic novels and manga. My story begins with a rare illness I suffered during childhood, which kept me bedridden for many years. During that time, comics became my refuge and salvation: through their pages, I traveled to other worlds and lived countless lives, even from the cold confines of a hospital room. These stories helped me endure and fueled my dream of one day creating my own adventures. Thanks to this, the love of my family, and a complex surgery followed by a lengthy rehabilitation, I overcame that challenging chapter of my life. Since then, Iβve pursued a clear goal: to inspire others and make them dream, just as my favorite creators did for me. Throughout my career as an artist, I have been defined by my versatility and a constant creative curiosity that has led me to explore a variety of styles. Now, Iβm embarking on a new chapter as a writer, fulfilling the promise I made to my younger self: to craft stories that pay tribute to the classic films, video games, and comics that shaped my childhood while blending them with my current passions to deliver a contemporary, innovative, and experimental vision. As a millennial who grew up during the transition from analog to digital, my work reflects this dualityβcombining the nostalgia of the classics with a disruptive approach designed to surprise and inspire my readers. My work Look Into My Eyes is the first result of this creative phase, where I believe Iβve best captured this mix of tradition and innovation. And this is just the beginningβI hope youβll join me on this journey! (The Expanse-Boom! Studios, Voltron-Lion Forge, Search for Hu or Astronaut Down-both for AfterShock).
Francesco Segala was born in 1990 and lives in Rome, Italy. Aside from his work with Mad Cave, he is a part of Studio Panopticon and has worked on titles for Boom! Studios, Sky Arte, Magic Press, Bugs Comics, Noise Press, and Wilder Online.
El Torres (1972) is an acclaimed Spanish writer, multiple award-winner in Spain and even an Eisner nominee, creator of comics like The Veil, Nancy in Hell, and Roman Ritual. His work focuses on horror and scary things. But he also enjoys lettering comics, and even more so when they're his friends' comics. And that's what he's doing here! El Torres' work is characterized by the use of familiar tropes from popular culture, always giving them a unique twist. His books have been published in the USA, Spain, France, Germany, Italy, Brazil, Poland and Japan, but he prefers to live in the south of Spain.
