About the Author
Adam Blackwell
In his first published children's book, Adam draws on his own adventures as a child growing up in Heretaunga, Upper Hutt, as he explored the creek that runs through Wellington Golf Course and out to the Hutt River. Adam's career has been largely in creative copy and concept development for his marketing agency Stun, and more recently in small business with the creation of Blackwell and Sons and the Greytown Distilling Company. He is an advocate for small towns and a corresponding lifestyle that prioritises his wife, travel and exploration, and a deep love for nature.
Paul Rees
Inspired and encourages as a child by his mother, a talented artist in her own right, Paul is an award-winning artist whose passion is painting in oils. His childhood artistic endeavours were validated by winning a Disney art competition in the 1970s and honed by painting with oils in the kitchen of his childhood home. Today, Paul and fellow artist Aaron Frew are the team at Cube Design in Christchurch, where they produce commercial design work for global companies based in New Zealand, the United States, Australia and Europe. Paul also designed the original Cookie Time Muncher character and almost all of the visual branding for Blackwell and Sons.
