Pondweed is a love story set in the slow lane; a road novel that takes you on a journey from Stoke-on-Trent to Wales. It tells the tale of a stolen caravan and a salesman who audaciously kidnaps the love of his life, embarking on a journey of self-discovery. This story revolves around an unusual couple in their sixties: childhood sweethearts reunited later in life.

One Monday afternoon, around three o'clock, pond supplies salesman Selwyn Robby arrives home, towing the Toogood Aquatics exhibition caravan. He abruptly instructs his like-wife, Imogen 'Ginny' Dare, to get into the car, announcing a surprising little holiday to Wales.

Thus begins their westward road trip, marked by ponds, pitstops, and resonant echoes from Selwyn's past. However, towing this caravan is not as straightforward as it seems. With its saucy mermaid curtains, a fully stocked bar, and the words 'For your pondlife and beyond' in a slanted red font reminiscent of Pound shops, it feels fishy. Ginny must unravel the layers of pondweed to get to the bottom of its mystery, even if it means confronting her own shadowy past to uncover the truth.
