Commies, Cuties, and the CIA
When Carter Redding prevents an assassination attempt, he has no idea how much his life is about to change. After saving Robert Kennedy's life while serving in the Peace Corps, Carter falls into a rabbit hole of encounters with politicians, exotic women, and spirits. A violent encounter in the jungles of Palawan brings his story to an alarming conclusion.
The time is the 1960s. The setting is the Philippines. The main character is Carter Redding, who is a Peace Corps Volunteer.
Fortunately, but quite by accident, he prevents an assassination of Robert Kennedy. The plotters are sure Carter is more than just a Peace Corps Volunteer. They are furious and attempt to discover who Carter is working for.
Those attempts involve Carter in a series of adventures featuring beautiful women, nefarious characters, unexpected violence, and interactions with spirits. The story moves to various areas in the Philippines and leads to a final confrontation in the jungles of the island of Palawan.
Commies, Cuties, and the CIA by Jim Dries offers an intriguing blend of espionage and adventure set against a vibrant historical backdrop.
