Indomitable marine biologist Chris Black is looking forward to six quiet months of scientific research off the coast of Cape Town, South Africa. But when on a routine dive Chris discovers the wreck of a fishing vessel that disappeared during a storm decades earlier, he inadvertently clashes with the ghost of South Africa's Apartheid.
The legacy of a failed regime rises from the deep.
Blood Cold introduces us to indomitable marine biologist Chris Black, who is anticipating six tranquil months of scientific research off the coast of Cape Town, South Africa. During a routine dive, Chris stumbles upon the wreck of a fishing vessel that vanished during a storm decades ago, unexpectedly bringing him into conflict with the ghost of South Africa's Apartheid era.
Thousands of gold Krugerrand offer a compelling incentive for betrayal, and Chris is compelled to scrutinise those he trusts most. Time is of the essence as he must ascertain who is providing critical information to the criminals before too much innocent blood is shed.

About the Author
Dr. James Lindholm dives deep for his inspiration. His novels are based on a foundation of direct, personal experience with the undersea world. He has lived underwater for multiple 10-day missions to the world's only undersea laboratory and has even found himself alone on the seafloor staring into the eyes of a hungry female great white shark. Along with his ocean adventures, Lindholm has drafted text for an executive order for the White House and has briefed members of the House and Senate on issues of marine science and policy. He works as the Chair of the Department of Marine Science at California State University, Monterey Bay. James Lindholm's diverse writing portfolio includes textbooks, peer-reviewed scientific journal articles, and the Chris Black series of action/adventure novels.
